about me
Hi, I’m Aliyah! I am a proud immigrant and artist. I was born in South India, and moved to Seattle at 4 years old. I have been a proud nature loving PNW girl since then! Right now, I am finishing my senior year at the Sargent Conservatory of Theater Arts at Webster University for my BFA in Acting. Growing up, my life was a wonderland of music and academia. With a doctor for a mother, and an engineer musician for a father, I grew up with a passion for the arts and a love for academics that never dwindled (basically, I am a huge nerd). Alongside my BFA, I will graduate with a minor in sociology. As an activist for people of color, I aided in the creation of an ethnic studies program for my school district in Washington, volunteered at Parenthood, and worked at various Women's Safe Houses in Seattle and St. Louis. As an artist, I hope to integrate my analytical mind with my art to form and hold space for other actors of color, and be the representation I never got to see growing up. When I am not singing, dancing, and acting, you can probably find me climbing mountains, reading books, and baking every possible treat imaginable.
